A 10-year-old Filipina is among the semifinalists of the hit competition Asia’s Got Talent.
Gwyneth Dorado, who auditioned by performing the Katy Perry’s single “Roar,” will join the semifinals together with another Filipino talent, dance group The Velasco Brothers. Their performances will air on April 16.
Since her audition, Dorado has been of one the favorites of the judges – Taiwanese-American pop idol Vanness Wu, Indonesian rock icon Anggun, 16-time Grammy winner David Foster, and former Spice Girl Melanie C.
“You’re like the cutest little thing. The confidence you have up there and you feel so comfortable with the guitar. Mahal kita,” Wu told Dorado.
“You walk in, the guitar is taller than you are, and you have that super smile, and that big voice. Very promising,” added Anggun.
“Being a star is not just having a good voice, and you’ve got that covered. I can’t imagine how good you’re gonna sound when you reach 13 or 15. You came out here, you were confident, had direction, you knew what exactly had to do. You know your place in this business and this business sure has a place for you,” Foster enthuses.
